Request for life insurance?

pummy asked:

I am a Life Insurance agent. How to issue business card and request for the business and services when I meet people. Kindly please provide word to word (exact) script on what to say without sounding as if I am begging. Because right now whenever I meet people I say things like please (buy) take out insurance policy from me etc.( it sounds as if I am begging). And the expected answer is people always say that I should not put them in an awkward situation. ie embarrassing situation.
since I am begging for business and service they are ashamed of me because I ask them like that. I would like to know what is the correct way to request for business and services so that I don’t sound as if I am begging and also they don’t feel ashamed. PLEASE PLEASE HELP! others

You have to explain why people need life insurance. You can not talk like your begging for business or that people would be doing you a favor.

You need to explain what life insurance does and why people need it. People need it so if something does happen to them, their loved ones will have money for funeral expenses and to pay bills they leave behind.

You need to sell other products besides life insurance to make money. Do you work for Primerica? Just wondering. If you work for them there is no money to be made there.

There’s a natural way to do this. Whenever you meet people (in any context) for the first time, people often ask, “What do you do?”.

    You answer, “I’m a life insurance agent. I specialize in ____ products including ____, ______, _______. ”

Some people will not be interested at all.

Some people will want to know more about the products — it won’t be an interest that says, “I gotta have it all, now. Sell me some life insurance.” Rather, it will be an interest. So, EDUCATE THE PERSON on the topic. If the person wishes to discuss it further, ask if you can hand them one of your business cards, and arrange a meeting to discuss your product offerings in greater detail.

“In these uncertain and volatile times, people gain more comfort in knowing that they have coverage in place in case something bad happens to them personally.

When was the last time you reviewed your insurance coverage for adequacy and cost effectiveness?”
