OK- So I’m a regular life/health agent who places a lot of value in sports and staying healthy- I feel I need to be in the gym at least every other day. I also have a girlfriend who is constantly upset with me working the long hours of an insurance agent such as 9am-9pm on a consistent basis and I’ve found myself making more time for her and cancelling appointments, thus hurting my sales performance. Is a 23yr old guy who wants to stay healthy and maybe have some time with his gf on the weeknights a bad example of a life insurance agent? Or do I just need to readjust some lifestyle moves? I would gladly appreciate any and all comments from all different types of agents on whether or not my lifestyle can be that of an agent… or do I need to get on the “new career bus”?

Fiance’s mom pushing life insurance?

My fiance was recently diagnosed with Hyperemeis ( http://hyperemesis.org ), a disease which affects 1% of pregnant women. Due to this she’s been in the hospital 3 times in the last month.
Not once has her own mother visited her in the hospital or come to visit her at home while she’s ill.
After her last stay in the hospital just before the weekend, her mom started hassling her about life insurance. She actually told us that she forged her daughter’s signature and said something I couldn’t quite hear about making her in charge of the pregnancy. Since then she calls every day and leaves a message reminding her to call the life insurance agent to approve the plan she set up.
I asked my fiance why her mom is so intent on this and she gets mad at me for asking. I know that she doesn’t quite understand what lifwe insurance is and that being so sick all the time she doesn’t want to have to deal with anything stressful.
Am I making too much of this?

However, I have been asked to join the life insurance business to build business income. While to prospect of more money is very attractive to quickly settle all my debts and provide for my family, it is not a field i feel comfortable with. I am able to talk to people from all backgrounds as long as i need not sell them anything. Please help.
